Behlman Electronics, a provider of commercial off the shelf (COTS) power solutions, has manufactured two COTS power supplies for the electro optical sensor system (EOSS) of the U.S. Navy.
The power supplies meet the rigorous U.S. military standard requirements. The VP of Marketing and Sales at Behlman, Ron Storm, stated that the company had helped the Navy in extending the life of the EOSS. They repacked COTS power supplies to suit the specific requirements, such as accurate fit, function and form of the EOSS. The solution was manufactured at a fraction of the cost required for custom engineering of a new power solution. Behlman had also completed the development within a short period.
Behlman manufactured the COTS Model 94036 and 94037 power supplies and is supplying it to the Navy. Both the models contain the same printed wire boards. They feature protection for over current, over temperature and over voltage, and load and line regulation. They also possess low noise and ripple. The modules function on 60 Hz, 115 VAC 3-phase DELTA power from the ship. The units supply 28 VDC or 60 VDC. The modules meet the military requirements of MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-810D and MIL-STD-1399.
Behlman also supplies additional power supplies with single-phase AC, three-phase AC of 100 to 4000 W. These power supplies feature single or multiple DC outputs ranging from 3.3 to 100 VDC at 47-440 Hz.
