IntelliSAW, a developer of wireless temperature sensing units for smart grid applications, has signed a distribution contract with Adperc, a provider of critical test, monitoring, and control equipment for the electric energy industry in Brazil.
According to this agreement, Adperc will distribute and provide sensor integration and services for IntelliSAW’s novel wireless/passive sensing systems, used in electric power distribution and transmission system, across Brazil. Adperc provides its services for the smart grid applications, where IntelliSAW’s wireless temperature sensor ensures real-time, prolonged sensing of mission-critical electric power substation switchgear.
IntelliSAW’s wireless temperature monitoring system does not require external power, thereby it ensures installation ease and avoids any flashover and arcing issues. These sensors will allow real time monitoring and control by providing the output directly onto the existing communication pathway using pre-defined protocols.
Adalberto Pereira Junior, Adperc’s Commercial Director, stated that the company is delighted introduce the state-of-the-art electric switch gear sensing system to the smart grid applications. Pereira added that since the wireless temperature sensor is developed with flexible, strong and increased scale architecture, it can be ideally employed in the inhospitable environments engaged with switchgear fixations and can ensure reduction in maintenance expenses, enhance system uptime and increased safety for service personnel.
