Onset, a supplier of data loggers, has introduced its latest plug-and-play, wind direction smart sensor, which can be employed in measuring and logging the data of wind direction.
The wind direction smart sensor is user-friendly and will operate with Onset’s award-winning, compatible HOBO weather station. This sensor along with the HOBO weather station has been working over many years to offer highly reliable performance in adverse outdoor environmental conditions. These wind direction measuring sensors can be employed in a wide range of applications such as wind resource assessment, crop management, building energy studies, agricultural research, studies related to environmental conditions and meteorology.
The Onset’s HOBO U30 weather station is designed with a strong, double-weatherproof enclosure for its continuous usage in adverse and harsh environmental conditions in various applications. This U30 station can be used with a broad range of plug-and-play sensor systems, which is capable of performing the web-based and standalone communications. The HOBO micro weather stations can operate continuously for one year using battery power and can ensure cost-effective way of monitoring the climates, and highly reliable performance in adverse environmental conditions.
The integration of Onset’s wind direction sensor with wind speed smart sensor allows the customers to measure average speed, direction and highest three-second gust of wind. The major advantages of using the wind direction smart sensor are high reliability and increased life time due to shielded ball bearings made of stainless steel; reduced drip overhang; precise wind data; plug-and-play architecture and balanced wind vane producing smooth response to the change in wind directions.
