Synaptics, a Santa Clara-based human interface solutions developer for mobile computing, communications and entertainment devices such as tablets, mobile phones, notebook PCs and PC peripherals has announced the availability of the Design Studio 4 (DS4).
Embedded with Synaptics’ patented SignalClarity Technology, the Synaptics DS4 offers the most comprehensive and cutting-edge touch system available. The DS4 has been designed to accelerate the development cycle of ClearPad, Synaptics’ touchscreen solution portfolio that offers unique capacitive sensing solutions. This is achieved by combining the SignalClarity technology with DS4 and the most efficient ASICs available in the market, thus increasing the performance and efficiency of the capacitive sensor solutions.
SignalClarity improves the overall user experience by enhancing tracking accuracy, electrical and environmental noise robustness and finger separation. It also improves the signal-to-noise ratio for noise immunity and improved touch detection. The technology is compatible with several display configurations, such as in-cell stackup, on cell, sensor-on-lens and discrete sensors solutions. The integrated test capabilities offer test logs that can be accessed by the customers and production test limits which are custom-generated.
The Senior Vice President of Synaptics, Kevin Barber explained that the DS4 and SignalClarity technology allows customers to integrate ClearPad firmware, touch sensors and software in order to speed up the process of launching their solutions in the markets.
