The Siemens Building Technologies Division headquartered in Switzerland has expanded its Gamma building control product offering with two temperature controllers, the UP254K and the UP237K. The Gamma building control is based on the KNX standard and complies with ISO/IEC 14543 and EN 50090.
The two controllers provide enhanced operating safety and user-friendly visualization along with energy- saving features. Configurable as continuous or two-point controllers, they support both cooling and heating applications. The actuating signals for each actuator can also be configured. The room temperature controllers enable adjustment of temperature set-point through a featured rotary button. This enables users to set the relative set-point shift or the absolute temperature value to increase the operating comfort for the users present in the room.
Logically arranged LEDs indicate states of operation and error. For optimal performance window contacts are connected to the controller. If the window is open, the Gamma controller detects the change and activates an LED display, along with shifting the cooling/heating system to protection mode in order to save costs. At a glance, room users can immediately access the situation and restore the optimal state of the room.
The UP254K and the UP237K Gamma room temperature controllers support KNX communication protocol for commercial and residential building management technology and are part of Siemens environmental portfolio. Revenue generated from the environmental portfolio totaled approximately €30 billion. The Siemens Building Technologies Division provides technology solutions for fire protection, security, building automation, HVAC and life safety.
