The SIP Redwall infrared security solution developed by Japanese infrared technology products manufacturer, Optexis being deployed by Vera Cadillac, a Cadillac dealer in Florida’s Pembroke Pines.
To combat the threat posed on the car dealer’s inventory by vandals and thieves, who are capable of circumventing their ineffective CCTV camera based security system, ADT proposed the wireless SIP Redwall solution. The earlier security system featuring motion sensors and CCTV cameras was replaced by the Optex Synthesized Intelligent Passive infrared (PIR) sensor solution.
The new security solution accounts for natural and vegetation obstacles and is a robust solution to combat vandalism. It uses SIP Redwall passive IR detectors as the trigger for the advanced pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) cameras. Once the camera is triggered by the detector, it begins recording any intrusion, which is tracked by the ADT central monitoring station. An alert is sent to the Vera Cadillac personnel and the local authorities.
Inside the buildings perimeter wall, a total of twelve Redwall sensors, equipped with anti-masking and anti-rotation functions will be mounted at a height of nine feet above the ground level, making it harder for the vandals to disable the sensors.
The account executive at ADT, Chris Adams stated that the Optex Redwall SIP detector is ideal for making existing security solutions and security networks more efficient. ADT provides security and business optimization services and is based inBoca Raton, Florida.
The General Manager of Vera Cadillac, John Reis stated that theft attempts and vandalism has significantly reduced since the new Optex systems were installed on the dealer’s property.
