Concrete Plant Benefits from DT80 Data Logger and WattNode Transducers

CAS DataLoggers has announced that the DT80 intelligent data logger was recently installed in a concrete plant to function as the central monitoring unit.

DT80 Intelligent Universal Input Data Logger

The solution was adopted by the concrete plant not only to regulate energy efficiency and monitor power consumption but also to address the fluctuations in the power grid.

The dataTaker DT80 was connected to 12 small form Wattnode Modbus power and energy meters, which were easily installed inside the distribution panels of various equipment and devices. The power monitoring devices leverages on the EIA RS-485 multi-drop network in order to measure current and voltages from the equipment. The WattNode devices installed are capable of handling not just demand and energy metering but also individual phase measurements of line frequency, power factor, voltage, demand and peak demand, current, reactive power and energy.

Featuring serial, pulse, digital and analog data recording capabilities, the dataTaker DT80 intelligent universal data logger serves as a standalone data logging solution with 5 analog inputs channels that are expandable up to 100 channels. Featuring 18-bit resolution, USB memory stick and a ±30 V input measurement range, the dataTaker DT80 is a dual channel solution that allows a maximum of 15 analog inputs to be used in several combinations. The flexibility offered by the dual channel concept allows connection to most data measurement and sensor sources to monitor temperature, resistance, current, bridges, strain gauges and 4-20mA loops. It can be interfaced with Modbus connections to access multiple parameters and features removable screw terminals to ensure secure connections.

The dataTaker DT80 also features a software configurable serial port and offers Modbus RTU support. Furthermore, the solution simplifies data management and is capable of storing 10 million data points.
