Sony has expanded its range of Cyber-shot digital still cameras with three new models, the DSC-TX200V, DSC-WX70 and DSC-WX50 featuring the Exmor R high resolution CMOS sensor and BIONZ image processor.
The Sony TX200V camera features an 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensor while the WX70 and WX50 feature 16.2 MP Exmor R CMOS sensors. The CMOS sensor and image processor enables better low light performance of the cameras while improving auto-focus speeds. Unwanted noise is minimized in low-light conditions by the integration of an Extra High Sensitivity technology. The new models also feature Clear Image Zoom technology which is capable of enhancing the optical zoom to twice its virtual capability at full camera resolution.
The TX200V is a dust-proof, water-proof up to a depth of 16 ft (5m) and freeze-proof up to 14°F (-10°C) camera featuring a 3.3” XtraFine TruBlack OLED screen. It features a 26 mm equivalent lens and provides10x virtual zoom through "Clear Image Zoom" technology. Other features of the DSC-TX200V include full HD 1080i60 movie capture, high speed AF and optical image stabilization. It is available in violet, silver and red colors.
The WX70 and WX50 feature a 25 mm equivalent lens and also offer full HD 1080i60 video capture. Nine picture effects options are provided for styling and correcting photographs. The DSC-WX50 features a 2.7” 460k dot LCD screen whereas the DSC-WX70 features a larger, 3” 921k dot LCDtouch-screen.
