AOptix announced that SITA, with over 2700 customers in 200 countries worldwide, has become a Value Added Reseller partner for AOptix. SITA will coordinate with government, airline and airport customers to deploy automated solutions that are based on the InSight face biometric and iris recognition technology developed by AOptix to expedite the process of passenger identity screening at borders and airports.

The Director of Biometric Services at SITA, Sean Farrell stated delight at the partnership by stating that the AOptix is committed to improving passenger experience by developing easy-to-use, non-invasive technology that can confirm the identity of a traveler in minimal time. This would shorten disruption and queue duration at airports. Farrell also explained that the AOptix’s iris and biometric technology will be combined with SITA iBorders BioThenticate, a biometric management and matching system to ensure world-class airport and border security management.

The InSight iris and face biometric system offers the speed, accuracy and intuitive capability required at security checkpoints. The non-invasive technology has a working range of 1.5 to 2.5 meters and delivers a high quality iris image within 2 seconds.

The Director-Product Marketing at AOptix, Joseph Pritikin stated that the technical capability offered by SITA will make the InSight technology accessible to government and airline customers located in over 200 countries.
