Innovative Wireless Technologies (IWT), a wireless solutions company developing products for defense, industrial, public safety and commercial industry, has received a fund of greater than $200,000 from Genedge Alliance, jointly with The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission (TIC).
The grant has been rewarded for accelerating high technology growth through an innovation commercialization project and for testing the IWT’s Coyote unattended ground sensor (Coyote UGS) System. Currently, the UGC system is installed by many federal agencies and it allows for cost-effective surveillance in a strong remote environment. The high-accuracy, unique sensing is achieved using the UGS system to classify vehicle or human presence with minimal false and precision alarms.
Bill Donohue, Genedge Alliance’s Vice President said that the organization is delighted to fund IWT for the final critical testing of the UGC system in a border security environment. Bill also stated that in addition to the IWT benefit, the successful launch of the UGC system project located in the TIC region will also result in revenue growth and increase in technology jobs.
Eric Hansen, Chief Executive Officer and President of IWT, stated that the fund support from the Genedge helps them to make the Coyote UGS system a stronger and highly qualified product. Eric added that the UGS system ensures wireless capability and smart sensing for tightening the national border security. Eric said that the company’s goal is to enhance the technology growth in the TIC locality and the company is looking forward to the collaboration with Genedge for the benefit of Central Virginia.
