GPS Insight, a supplier of reliable GPS tracking, navigation, and messaging technology for fleet-based customers has declared that its fleet tracking software extends the life of Crescent Electric Supply Company’s vehicles, which makes it to run more efficiently, and improves the calculated delivery.
Within a month’s time, a mileage reduction of 1.605 miles has been achieved by the Cresent’s Salt Lake City branch, which resulted in saving about $4.815 in fuel.
Burnett Thackery, Crescent’s Warehouse Manager stated that the company’s warehouse has attained great success with valuable support from GPS Insight. Burnett added that each vehicle’s life is extended for two more years using this software and a new software-installed vehicle cost is about $47,000. Burnett said that the vehicle’s efficient routing, maintenance monitoring and elimination of unauthorized usage are the major causes for this achieved ROI.
The fleet tracking software has an ‘alerts’ feature that ensures a foreman to be automatically notified through a text message by the company about the arrival of the vehicle before 10 minutes, as the vehicle enter the jobsite perimeter. This helps the foreman to be ready with his employees for unloading the delivery. A preferential treatment is often provided to CESCO, because of their proactive alert of arrival time to delivery locations.
