VTI’s Accelerometer Sensor for Industrial and Automotive Applications

The global low g MEMS sensor vendor VTI Technologies has launched SCA3060, a total digital accelerometer sensor for robust industrial and automotive applications.

This sensor is targeted at non-safety vital automotive applications like burglar alarms, black boxes and navigation support and also industrial applications for general purpose sensing, heavy machinery and agricultural equipment, all of which require a very sturdy and low power sensor.

Ultra low consumption of power needing a supply of 150ìA at 3.3V, motion detection capability for enabling ìC sleep, a ring buffer memory for freeing the ìC resources and additional savings in power are some of the salient features of this sensor.

The sensor is available in a dual flat lead package measuring 7.6 mm x 8.6 mm x 3.3 mm. Currently samples of the SCA3060-D01 and -D02 are available with mass production to commence in the 2H 2010 (second half of 2010).
