Honeywell has introduced the new PX2 Series heavy duty pressure transducers. The PX2 series are configured to provide solutions for stainless steel pressure measurement and to resist harsh media including compressed air, brake and hydraulic fluids, refrigerants, engine oils and tap water.
The piezoresistive sensing technology with application specific-integrated circuit (ASIC) signal conditioning is used in the PX2 series. Using the on-board ASIC, the calibrated PX2 series can be adjusted for non linearity, temperature effects, sensitivity and transducer offset. A total error band of ±2% on the broad range of temperature between -40 ºC and 125 ºC offers a better possibility for interchanging the parts due to their minimal variability, removes specific transducer calibration and testing and provides accurate customer support.
The absolute or sealed gage pressure can be measured by using the transducers. The transducers for absolute gage measurement will have an output value related to absolute pressure and an internal vacuum reference whereas transducers for sealed gage will have an internal pressure reference of one atmosphere at sea level. The transducers with a pressure range of 7 to 34 bar can be obtained. The ecological electromagnetic interference does not damage these transducers. Tough environments can be handled by the series due to its compatibility to different media, CE compliance and integration with IP69K protection.
The PX2 series can be configured according to customer requirements, which are employed to several pressure types and ranges, ports, connectors and the series also provide options for output. Due to the configurability of the series, the expenditure for designing and executing the final product will be minimized.
The transducers can be utilized for industries for monitoring emissions, solar energy, foam dispensing, lasers, sprayers, packaging equipments, pumps, valves, pneumatics, factory automation, system pressure, air compressors and HVAC/R equipments. They can also be potentially used for transportation including truck/trailer air braking, transmissions, brake and engine oil pressure, light hydraulics, pneumatics and system pressure.
