Key Source International (KSI), an Oakland-based manufacturer of input automation technology solutions, has announced the integration of the KSI-1700 professional series with the Lumidigm Mariner fingerprint reader.
The HIPAA-compliant KSI-1700 series keyboard now offers auto ID and integrated security and will be showcased at the Annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference being held at the Sands Expo Convention Center, Las Vegas from 20-24 February, 2012.
Lumidigm, a biometric company headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, develops advanced fingerprint readers with multispectral imaging capability that is capable of viewing internal and external fingerprint present below the surface of the skin. The Mariner does not require perfect and clean contact between the sensor and the printer to authenticate users.
The Lumidigm Mariner widens the scope of KSI-1700 series professional keyboard to secure data access required in electronic medical records, laboratory equipment sign-on, quality control, standards compliance, point-of-sale applications, enterprise single sign-on as well as attendance data collection.
The Vice President - Sales & Marketing at KSI, Phil Bruno explained that the biometric performance offered by the integration of Lumidigm Mariner is the most advanced and highly reliable. The Senior Vice President of worldwide sales and marketing for Lumidigm, Phil Scarfo stated that users in mission-critical hospitals will no longer have to compromise on biometrics performance or reliability with the KSI-1700 keyboards.
The KSI-1700 keyboard integrated with the Lumidigm Mariner will be demonstrated at Lumidigm Booth 1262 and at KSI Booth 3464.
