Orange Electronic, a producer of tire pressure monitor (TPMS), has added ATEQ’s VT55 OBD TPMS tool to its range of TPMS solutions.
The VT55 tool can deal with all OE TPMS replacement conditions in a fast and efficient manner using the OE sensor ID-cloning capability in the OBD interface of the TPMS tool.
The replacement sensors can be programmed using OE ID numbers, and the standard relearning procedure can be eliminated when TPMS is replaced. Two ATEQ TPMS tools, VT55 and T30, perform RF programming to reach the ID-cloning capacity. The T30 TPMS tool has the same functions as the VT55, except for the OBD connection.
Steve Norris, who serves as the CEO at Orange Electronic North America, said that the addition of the VT55 tool offers the choice to distributors and service locators for including OBD capacity in their TPMS tool.
The life of the OE battery is around five to six years. In 2012 and thereafter, the dying of tire sensors mandated by TREAD Act is expected to increase at a higher rate. A study conducted by Frost and Sullivan stated that more than 11 million sensors in the US are anticipated to be replaced in 2012.
Orange Electronic operates from Cincinnati in Ohio. It provides retrofit and OE replacement TPMS solutions.
