Cellocator, an automatic vehicle location (AVL) solutions provider and a division of Pointer Telocation, has launched Compact GLONASS, an integrated GPSsolution directed at service providers in the automotive market in Russia.
The Compact GLONASS solution will be revealed at a seminar, which will be held on March 28, 2012 in Moscow to the customers and partners of Cellocator.
The Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) developed for commercial use in Russia features 24 operating satellites and has 31 satellites in orbit. The integrated GLONASS solution will cater to the needs of GPS customers in Russia and those located in CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) territories.
The Compact GLONASS solution features a Compact unit developed by Cellocator along with an active GPS/GLONASS antenna that offers a small footprint solution along with improved positional accuracy and ease of installation. The Compact GLONASS solution is GOST R 51318.22-99 certified and has received Certificate of Conformity #ROSS RU.ML04.N00726
The General Manager of Cellocator, Israel Ronn stated that with the new Compact GLONASS solution, every vehicle in Russia can be equipped with a GLONASS-compatible receiver.
