Prime Trailer Leasing has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Skybitz. As per the terms of the agreement, Skybitz, an information management and GPS asset tracking solutions provider, has enabled Prime Trailer’s fleet of refrigerated trailers and late-model dry van rentals units with GPS asset trackers.
With the installed GPS units, the customers of Prime Trailer will receive a location update of their rented trailers and communicate with the trailer to enable instant locating when required. An idle trailer is viewed as a liability and it is critical to keep assets in motions to ensure profitability. The Skybitz GPS tracker units will enable customers to group assets by asset ID or location and receive notifications when the trailers cross the country or state border.
The Skybitz GPS tracking units in the semi trailers have enabled Prime Trailer to forecast the arrival of the trailers along with tracking events when the trailer doors are opened and closed and when the trailer is loaded and unloaded. Skybitz tracking solutions, such as the Gemini GLS400, GLS410 and GTP1000 models, can be easily fixed to the roof of the trailer using a mounting bracket, thus eliminating the use of tools required to cut holes. Furthermore, the GLS400 helps optimize trailer utilization, minimize expenditure, locate stolen/lost trailers and increase detention billing.
A sales and rental company located in Colorado, Prime Trailer Leasing has a large fleet of flatbeds, dry vans, reefers and refrigerated vans. The company also provides trailers in Nevada, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
