iLOC Technologies celebrated World Autism Awareness Day by announcing the launch of the TRiLOC GPS Locator designed specifically for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The TRiLOC GPS Locator is a result of two years of research and development and combines Bluetooth 4.0, cellular and GPS technologies. The locator offers a long battery life and can be comfortably worn around the wrist. The GPS device can also be used by lone workers, theme park & cruise ship patrons and women in distress.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of iLOC, Tony Fama stated that the TRiLOC solution is a result of discussions with worried parents who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The parents were overcome with anxiety and stress for not finding a GPS tracking device for monitoring their child and ensuring that the child has not wandered off, run away or been injured. Fama added that the functions and features offered by the GPS solution are based on the recommendations provided by care givers and parents.
The TRiLOC GPS Locator is a waterproof device that allows the patient to wear the device while bathing and swimming and issues a notification to the caregiver when a fall is detected. Furthermore, the caregiver and parent can set up Geofence alerts to notify when the patient or child has left the safe zone.
The Chief Technology Officer of iLOC, Yves Messier stated that the advanced voice and wireless data technology offered by the small TRiLOC GPS Locator provides both indoor and outdoor locating capability. Furthermore, enabled by Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the device can communicate with smart home, remote monitoring and security devices. It also provides bi-directional voice communication that can be used in the event of an emergency.
