The Heart Rate Watch Company has announced that the Polar RCX5 Tour de France G5 GPS Limited Edition, the official cycling computer of the 2012 Tour de France will be available for purchase from April through September, 2012.
The limited edition, Polar RCX5 Tour de France G5 monitor features the advanced G5 GPS sensor that provides mapping data along with details on distance and speed. Ideal for outdoor sports enthusiasts, the limited edition monitor is available with Polar WearLink Hybrid transmitter – a dual frequency, heart rate monitor that can be worn using a machine-washable chest strap; the Polar Cadence Sensor W.I.N.D to calculate cadence and speed sensor; Polar Datalink USB stick for effortless data transfer, and a bike mount. On a single charge, the batter power of the Polar RCX5 Tour de France G5 GPS lasts for more than 20 hours.
The President of the Heart Rate Watch Company, Rusty Squire stated that the units offered are identical to other RCX5 units available in terms of features and functions, but are offered in the Tour de France colors. Squire also added that the Tour de France G5 heart rate monitor is ideal for inline skating, swimming, running and cycling. Furthermore, it opens new avenues for a multi-sport market.
The compact size of the G5 GPS sensor, in addition to the mapping, speed and distance capabilities offered by the RCX5 Tour de France G5, makes it ideal for use by all outdoor sports and fitness enthusiasts.
After testing the Polar RCX5 last year, the Heart Rate Watch Company found the device to be the most accurate and versatile heart rate monitors in the market.
