TrackPoint Systems, a manufacturer and provider of mobile asset management and communication products including trailer inventory, cargo sensors and temperature sensors, has released its new Tr/IPSNET wireless door sensor to communicate with its Tr/IPS Trailer Inventory & Protection System.
With the door sensor’s advanced functionality, customers will receive instantaneous alerts when the doors of their untethered trailers are opened or closed.
The door sensor offers customers of TrackPoint Systems with enhanced security, rapid response times as well as peace of mind being aware that their trailer or asset is being well protected on road or when left unattended for a long time.
The wireless door sensor can be easily screw-mounted or taped to the trailer surface since TrackPoint’s MCU does not require cutting holes or having cables run throughout the trailer length. Furthermore, an optional 18” cable and magnet-mounting bracket can be used to hide the sensor under a plywood lining or behind a support. The battery supports operation for 3 to 5 years and can be easily replaced by the user with store-purchased batteries. The door sensor is operational in temperatures ranging between -15°F and 160°F (-25°C and 70°C).
Every time the door of the trailer is opened or closed, the magnetic, wireless sensor communicates with the Tr/IPS MCU located on the trailer and adds information on the device status, location, time and date and sends an alert to the CONNECT web application. The CONNECT allows customers to access information on trailer operation round-the-clock and notifies the user of the trailer status with customized and standard alerts.
