Lion Precision, a manufacturer of noncontact displacement sensors headquartered in St. Paul, MN, has announced the release of the ECL150 Eddy-Current Displacement Sensor. Available in a compact package of dimensions measuring 4.2x7.6x2.3”, the ECL150 has been developed to support designers who require compact multichannel displacement sensors.
Featuring eight channels of noncontact, high resolution displacement sensing, the ECL150 is based on the CompactFLEX platform developed by Lion Precision to enable easy customization of applications. The high-performance sensing system offers a measurement range of 0.5 – 15 mm and resolutions of 2.6 nm at a bandwidth of 15 kHz. Furthermore, for each channel, the ECL150 provides linear ±5 V outputs and its output becomes more positive as the probe-target gap increases.
The President of Lion Precision, Don Martin commented that applications that demand multiple sensing channels in limited space are constantly on the rise and the ECL150 has been developed so that the customers can access a better solution without requiring interconnecting cables for connecting channels.
The other Eddy-Current sensors offered by Lion Precision include ECL202 & ECL202e high-performance sensors, ECL101 - single channel and ECL110 multi-channel sensors, ECA101, ECD140 & ECD140e sensors for compact RIO applications, and the ECA110 for embedded applications.
Lion Precision also offers capacitive sensors for position sensing, dynamic motion, assembly testing and thickness measurement; label sensors and other custom solutions including multichannel assemblies, PCB sensors and custom probe shapes. The EAR99 sensor systems that are available for purchase without export license include the ECL202e, ECD140e and ECL150e Eddy-Current sensors and the CPA100e capacitive analog proximity sensor.
