Schrader International, a manufacturer of valve and sensing solutions, has announced its acquisition from Tomkins, through a company formed by Madison Dearborn Partners and members of Schrader’s management team.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Schrader, Hugh Charvat explained that the company’s collaboration with Chicago-based private equity investment firm Madison Dearborn has resulted in expansion of the global business. Charvat also added that their partners at Madison Dearborn believe that the key to the differentiation in the served markets is the result of the company’s strong product line and custom-engineered valves, coupled with the Schrader’s strong global positioning and scalable growth plan.
The MD of Madison Dearborn, Tom Souleles stated that Schrader is driven by international and domestic OEM demand and has a rapidly expanding aftermarket for its advanced TPMS technology. Souleles also added that the management team at Schrader has developed a state-of-the-art infrastructure along with scalable operations to provide the best customer service and products to its customers.
Schrader has a presence in over 50 countries and manufactures advanced valve products and sensor solutions at 8 of its manufacturing facilities located in Antrim and Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland; Springfield, Tennessee; Altavista, Virginia; Pontarlier, France; Swindon, England; Jacareí, Brazil and Kunshan, China. The company’s tire pressure monitoring system feature is a standard across all light trucks and cars sold in the United States. The EZ-sensor solution is the company’s patented replacement sensor solution targeted at aftermarket customers in North America.
