BANC3, a defense and engineering company, has been awarded a major contract for providing technology assistance and engineering support for the Warrior Enabling Broad Sensor Services (WEBS) contract.
The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) Night Vision and Electronics Sensors Directorate (NVESD) has chosen BANC3 as one among the six major contractors for the project. The NVESD is an advanced electro-optical electronic sensors technology directorate that has made significant innovations for critical applications.
The $1.78 billion WEBS contract will provide engineering support and services for night vision and electronic sensors systems, sensor technology engineering, operations, test and evaluation, and field technology assistance. It will help the sensor research and development community.
The President of BANC3, Babu Cherukuri stated that the award showed the confidence of the U.S government in BANC3’s ability to provide assistance to clients about new technologies.
The company will be competing for work concerning detection of improvised explosive devices and mines, surveillance reconnaissance, persistent surveillance systems, human signature exploitation, multi- and hyper-spectral detection systems, and target acquisition. It will also compete for neutralization systems, neutralization location, force protection, navigation, technology demonstrations, systems engineering and prototype fabrication. Other services including system modeling and simulation, data collection, field testing, networking, equipment and facilities maintenance and support involving engineering materials and parts will also be competed for.
