Two enhanced technologies related to the off-grid solar lighting systems will be introduced during May 12 to 14 at the LIGHTFAIR 2010 by Carmanah.
The state-of-the-art adaptive lighting technology is being launched by the company in the form of enhanced occupancy sensing capabilities. Carmanah is launching the EverGEN 1720, that is its maximum output self contained light system.
The technology’s novel innovative occupancy sensing capabilities will result in functionality that is not offered currently by any solar LED in the market. This capability enables a 1720 solar LED lights or EverGEN network to offer synchronized low-high activation if one of the network lights senses motion. Using occupancy sensors and mesh network, the lights network is able to wirelessly communicate to provide illumination that responds to motion in locations like secure facilities, parking lots, pathways, and places where lighting plays an integral role for maintaining safety and security.
It is possible to configure enhanced occupancy sensing for set or full distance activation. Set activation results in the lights being activated in a set distance where motion is detected, thereby offering a bubble of information effectively which tracks the motion throughout the site. Full activation, on the other hand, results in the synchronized activation for every light in the system.
Besides introducing the enhanced occupancy sensing, the company is also releasing the EverGEN 1720, its latest EverGEN solar LED light. The 1720 is Carmanah’s maximum output self-contained solar LED light so far and it has leveraged the EverGEN 1710’s thin form factor while at the same time offering about two times the usual lumen output. Under ideal solar conditions having customized operating profiles it can achieve a maximum of 10,000 lumens light output. It can provide 5,000 lumens output under more typical scenarios. It is useful for residential roadway, perimeter, parking lot, sign, and various site lighting applications. It increases the application range of the aesthetic and compact 1700 portfolio of solar LED lights. The 1700 series can be installed within 30 minutes and saves money and time of customers.
Ted Lattimore, CEO of Carmanah, informed that the EverGEN has eliminated the requirement of installing conduit or trench while lighting installation is in process. He added that the EverGEN 1700 range has further reduced the installation cost and time by staging the total system on the ground, followed by hoisting it on the pole as a single complete unit.
