Sierra Pacific Innovations (SPI), a manufacturer and distributor of thermal imaging solutions, has announced that it has completed testing of its new M1-D Nano-Tech multi sensor thermal pan tilt zoom (PTZ) imaging system.
The M1-D Nano Tech system is an advancement of its existing systems. SPI has been providing thermal PTZ solutions for law enforcement, civilian and military applications. These systems are designed for stationary and vehicle mount applications. The present M1-D Nano Tech system is a lighter and smaller product with more powerful features when compared to the older versions.
The M1-D Nano Tech thermal PTZ system includes laser, thermal and visual sensor technologies. This equipment is of a small size when compared to older thermal sensors. Conventional pan tilt zoom thermal systems are expensive, costing around $100,000. They are large in size and weigh in the range of 40 – 150 lbs. Their mounting requires considerable effort.
Military and law enforcement personnel use thermal imaging solutions for searching during the day and in the night from their vehicles. Hog hunters can also use the solution for the spotting hogs. For these applications, lighter solutions are preferred and the M1-D Nano Tech model utilizes nanotechnology to increase the strength of the product and reduce its size, leading to reduction in cost.
The product has been tested in the Nevada desert and is expected to go into production, shortly.
