Extech Launches Wireless Datalogging Insulation Tester and RMS Multimeter

Extech, a global provider of handheld testing and measurement tools, has launched a new insulation tester & multimeter with wireless datalogging capabilities. The MG300 is a 2-in-1 device. It is a true RMS multimeter having a built-in insulation resistance tester.

The combination instrument enables electricians to attend and address issues rapidly without the help of additional tools. It is a full-function multimeter that also features milliamp readings and duty cycle measurements for industrial analog process controls. It has the capability of measuring resistance with a resolution of 0.001 MÙ up to 4 GÙ. The device has four types of test voltages.

The Extech MG300 has an IP67-rated waterproof and rugged construction. It features wireless datastreaming, which allows users to perform safe maintenance and troubleshooting activities from distances of up to 30 ft. The readings can be observed in real-time. The datastreaming has a CAT-IV rating.

Along with the RMS multimeter, Extech is providing a remote USB receiver, alligator clip test leads and bead wire temperature probe of type K along with its adaptor. The software supplied is compatible with Windows.

The company is providing MG300-NIST, a model featuring NIST-traceable certification. The model for North America transmits data at 915 MHz, and another model which transmits data at 433 MHz is available for markets in other areas.
