FPC, Miaxis Extend Partnership for Enhanced Silicon-Based Area Sensors

Fingerprint Cards, a developer, producer and marketer of biometric technologies and components including fingerprint sensors and systems, has announced that it is further extending its collaboration with Miaxis Biometrics in China.

Miaxis Biometrics is a provider of bank security systems and biometric products in China. It supplies biometrics products and solutions to many countries around the globe.

FPC will be introducing its enhanced version of FPC1011F silicon-based area sensor in China. Miaxis has been shipping the FPC1011F to many important Chinese banks. The extension of the collaboration will continue further for the enhanced sensor.

Miaxis has been utilizing the FPC1011F silicon-based area sensor in all of its fingerprint sensor-equipped products that are based on silicon. These sensor products enable banks to protect themselves against fraudulent activities that may affect bank server management, inter-bank payment systems, internet banking, physical money transportations, loan management and bank teller applications. The Miaxis products may also be used for monitoring the attendance and timing of bank employees, as well as the physical access for the different types of banking facilities.

The CEO of FPC, Johan Carlström, stated that Miaxis was a major customer for the company in China. The company was enthusiastic in the partnership with Miaxis for the supply for area sensors for the Chinese government’s new ID card program for the Chinese people.
