TruTouch Technologies has inked a manufacturing deal with Vergent Products for a touch-based intoxication detection device.
As per the contract, Vergent will work with TruTouch to develop the TruTouch 2500 intoxication detection device, which is a tabletop instrument and detects tissue alcohol concentration by determining the level of alcohol via the skin, using an optical touch pad and a safe near infrared light. The device has biometric capability to check user identity so as to maintain the integrity of the testing procedure. The TruTouch 2500 system is targeted for workplace deployment.
Dr. Richard D. Gill, CEO and President of the TruTouch Technologies, stated that they are happy to choose Vergent Products as their manufacturing partner for the TruTouch 2500 instrument. This device offers a practical solution and can scan about 200 employees in an hour without the requirement for supervisory staff.
Dr. Gill stated that they have chosen Vergent due to its proficiency and timely execution of manufacturing projects. Vergent's experience with medical device manufactures will be another advantage, while TruTouch investigates potential commercialization strategies outside the workplace.
Terry Precht, President and CEO of Vergent Products, stated that they are delighted to work with the TruTouch team to bring their advanced product into the market through Vergent Product Delivery Systems. The core mission of Vergent Products is to allow disruptive innovation with its improved design and manufacturing services. The company is looking ahead to support TruTouch's commercialization plans through its capabilities.
