Cobra Electronics, a global provider of innovative communication and navigation products, has launched its new 8000 Pro HD GPS navigation system for professional drivers.
The navigation system is a thin and lightweight unit that has a host of features to increase the efficiency and productivity of truck drivers. The 8000 Pro HD GPS navigation has a 7” full-color, high-definition touch screen display that provides clear voice directions. It has a user-friendly interface that allows truck drivers to navigate the roads easily.
The system provides live and predictive traffic information for free which will help drivers to steer clear of congestions and delays. Cobra offers a free lifetime map that provides the current information about the road. The device hosts a junction view with lane assist facility that provides lane guidance and images of forthcoming highway junctions in three-dimensional view. For multiple destinations, the 8000 Pro HD GPS navigation has a multi-point routing facility that suggests the best routing for multiple destinations, which will help save fuel consumption.
Cobra is partnering with TomTom, which is providing a map database that has more road coverage, more last mile coverage and more trucking attribute coverage for secondary highways. For IFTA reporting, it features a state mileage log for tracking miles.
The system also provides over 33,000 points-of-interest for trucks, such as, fueling stations, heavy duty towing services, repair shops, restaurants, hotels, amenity information, certified scales and weigh stations. It also offers access to the AURA Speed/Red-Light Camera database with free updates for lifetime. This feature alerts drivers about red light cameras, speed cameras, location-based threats and risky intersections in the U.S.A and Canada.
