SafeMart Security Image Sensor Puts Burglar Behind Bars

SafeMart, a provider of interactive wireless alarm systems for protection and control, has announced that its wireless motion-activated Image Sensors have helped arrest and convict a burglar. This conviction may probably be the first such prosecution using captures images.

The SafeMart home security image sensor triggered an alarm and captured this image used in the prosecution of the criminal.

Alarm.com’s novel Image Sensor performs dual functions. It acts as a wireless motion detector and a wireless camera. When the motion detector in the Image Sensor detects any activity, it activates an alarm. The wireless camera gets activated and snapshots of the intruder are captured automatically. Further, the alarm alerts the LiveWatch Security monitoring center. The captured snapshots are sent to specific smartphones or mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, or Androids.

A SafeMart employee, who is also a customer, suspected that certain items that were kept in his garage were missing. So, he installed an Image Sensor in the garage. A burglar gained an entry during the night. The system detected the intrusion and triggered the camera to take snapshots of the burglar. The burglar managed to escape from the crime scene. Based on the photographic evidence, the local police were able to identify, track and arrest the burglar.

SafeMart is offering the new Image Sensor both individually and along with its home security system with LiveWatch monitoring facility.
