Inventek Systems has introducedits latest compact global positioning system (GPS) receiver module. This novel high sensitivity module features a unique size, delivering low-power and rapid location-fix performance.
The ISM470F1 module has been designed and upgraded for applications where size and battery power are limited. The module utilizes the rapid and deep search potentials of CSR’s SiRFstar IVTM GSD4e platform. SiRFInstantFix technology has been integrated within the modules firmware. This novel technology reduces the time-to-first-fix (TTFF) and SiRFaware software to carry out optimization of the performance with respect to power trade-off. The SiP module can be effectively and extensively deployed for a wide range of size and power constrained applications, including asset tracking, handheld consumer devices, digital cameras, personal tracking for fitness and sports, and vehicle tracking.
The versatile ISM470F1 module features compact module size measuring 9.5x10.5x2.4 mm; reacquisition time of up to 1 s and up to 48 track verification channels; and integrated SAW Filter, LNA, TCXO that are optional. It includes 35, 35, 1 s of cold, warm, hot start time, respectively. Furthermore, it includes jamming detection and mitigation; single power supply voltage up to 1.8 V; capable of generating fast hot starts in weak signal environments; and consists of UART, SPI or I2C (Default SPI) of host interfaces.
Inventek’s ISM470 Evaluation Board (EVB) ensures efficient evaluation and design integration. This novel EVB features displays such as GeoID, Lat/Lon, UTC, Altitude, and HDOP; and ISM470F1 (Flash version) GPS modules. For creating modification to the latest firmware, it supports SiRF Flash utility on the ISM470F1 module.
The ISM470F1-C4.1 is currently available in volume production.
