Synaptics, an innovator of human interface solutions for mobile computing, communications and entertainment devices, has launched SafeSense.
The newly-introduced SafeSense is a sensor simulation and pattern generation tool that can be efficiently deployed in tablet, smartphone, by sensor and LCD manufacturers, and touch-enabled notebook OEM and ODM customers, and reference design innovators.
This intuitive software platform facilitates powering streamlined, affordable design cycle, through which the company’s customers can have rapid market entry. The development costs can be dramatically brought down by upgrading the empirical trial-and-error approach being implemented in existing sensor design workflows.
By using Synaptics SafeSense, sensor evaluators and innovators can better evaluate ClearPad sensor performance right in the design phase itself by utilizing simple metrics. As a result, detailed performance trade-off decisions can be achieved. Synaptics SafeSense design tool enables customers to precisely simulate new sensor designs, including the proprietary single-layer sensor pattern of Synaptics. This versatile tool also ensures experts to reach high performance benchmarks, eliminating the use of multiple costly prototypes.
SafeSense’s sensor drawing file can be deployed in manufacturing process and also in design analysis. SafeSense can be integrated with Synaptics' Design Studio 4 (DS4) to provide the industry's complete integrated array of powerful tools that can be effectively incorporated within product evaluation, design phase, and also in the manufacture of touchscreen solutions.
Synaptics SafeSense is currently being offered under license for partners and customers.
