Trimble has launched cBin solution that is capable of controlling remote recycling containers. The cBin solution includes a remote sensor enclosed within a container.
Wireless communications transmits fill level, providing status information to a Web portal, through which container inventory and pickups can be better handled. Container fill levels can be automatically measured each hour using cBin sensors, followed by providing updates to the cBin portal. Fill levels surpass action levels giving rise to instant updates. The cBin solution ensures fleet managers and environmental service experts with the capability to daily monitor container fill levels. It also enables the tools to quickly create customized collection routes for picking-up full containers.
According to the Director of Trimble's Environmental Solutions Business Area, Elmar Lenz, Trimble's newly designed cBin solution revolutionizes the way recycled materials are collected. It eliminates the need for deploying fuel, labor or using truck wear and tear in hauling operations for pick-up empty or partially full containers. The company focuses on maintaining optimal route planning and scheduling. The cBin solution enables customers to devise collection routes for picking up full containers, followed by estimating the amounts of recyclable materials being collected by each truck en route prior to delivering from the shop. cBin also allows recyclers and fleet managers to enjoy low collection cost, better utilization of fleets, thereby improving their forecasting process.
