CipherLab, a global provider of products and systems for automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) and collection, has announced the completion of its 1600 series cordless pocket-size scanners. These wireless barcode scanners help improve data collection in various markets including healthcare, retail, field service and public utilities. They can be used along with tablet PCs and smartphones.
The 1600 series cordless pocket-size scanners contain two dimensional imagers, linear imagers and lasers. The 1660 and 1661 wireless barcode readers are light in weight and touted to be one of the smallest in the market. These readers have the capability to read barcodes with a resolution of 3 mils and depth of field ranging from 1.4” to 15”. The 1661 model uses rechargeable Li-ion battery, while the 1660 requires AAA batteries. The batteries in 1661 last for 40 hours and the ones in 1660 last for 30 hours when used for scanning barcodes every 5 s.
The 1662 laser scanner equipped with a laser reader can help capture barcodes even under bright and sunny light conditions. CipherLab has improved its 1664 2D scanner. It now features a 2D imager and a 4MB memory that has the capacity to store more than 240,000 scans. It supports Bluetooth up to a range of 20 m, which allows the data to be synchronized with other systems.
CipherLab’s 1600H series scanners are designed for healthcare applications and feature antimicrobial protection. They can scan both one-dimensional and two-dimensional barcodes.
