Sale of More Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 from Implant Sciences in African Market

Implant Sciences has declared that it has sold 25 Quantum Sniffer QS-H150, which is a portable explosives detector, in Africa to be used for critical infrastructure protection.

This explosives detector analyzes the sample using ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) technology. This technology enables the effective detection of even minute quantities of explosives belonging to the homemade, commercial and military types.

The QS-H150 handheld explosives trace detector is very sensitive, and can detect trace amounts of explosive substances, be it in the vapor or particulate form. It does not require any form of user intervention. Radioactive materials are not used in the construction of this explosives detector which has the feature of automatic self-calibration. The QS-H150 performs equally well in humid and dry weather conditions, and also in varying temperature conditions.

Implant Sciences is a supplier of sensors and systems for defense and homeland security markets. The company’s President and CEO, Glenn D. Bolduc, said that their reputation in the security equipment market has grown because of the reliability and user-friendly features of QS-H150. He also believes that the company’s sales will increase steadily in Africa.

Dr. Darryl Jones, the company’s Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, stated that the Quantum Sniffers’ continuous demand in the aviation, banking and hotel security markets is proof enough for their effective performance in extreme temperatures and environments. In Africa, the Quantum Sniffers are known to be mainly deployed in government buildings to offer protection against terrorist attacks and threats.
