GE has declared that its acquisition of Naxys for the subsea sector has successfully come to an end. Located in Norway, Naxys is a provider of leak detection and condition monitoring sensors.
GE has been expanding within the North Sea Region and Norway. It provides sensors for subsea applications. The acquisition extends GE’s technology portfolio for the subsea sector and also for monitoring and sensing solutions. The acquisition will form a part of the company’s measurement & control business.
According to the president and CEO of GE Measurement & Control and VP of GE Energy, Brian Palmer, the acquisition expands the company’s subsea portfolio and also establishes its presence in Norway and the North Sea region. Naxys has created excellent sensor expertise and technology that can be effectively deployed for subsea applications.
Based in Bergen, Norway, Naxys has 31 employees. Using proprietary, passive acoustic hydrophone technology, Naxys creates and provides leak detection and condition monitoring sensors. The sensing element’s design provides extremely sensitive and precise measurement of subsea acoustics. Using Naxys’ products, operators can efficiently track the integrity of their subsea installations.
Measurement & Control develops advanced, sensor-based inspection and condition monitoring, measurement, non-destructive testing, and flow and process control solutions. It extends industrial healthcare for important assets of the customers.
