Lumenera Unveils New Sensor-Based Cameras

During the 25th international tradeshow for machine vision at Germany, Lumenera, an innovator and supplier of high performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions, will debut its latest innovations.

USB 3.0 CMOSIS-based Cameras

Lumenera was among the first few companies in imaging industry to optimize USB technology. Its recent feat includes coupling CMOSIS sensors to a USB 3.0 interface. Following long-term R&D efforts, the company was able to achieve this new product family. Lumenera however outsmarted multiple innovations. It has been successful in integrating distinguished USB 3.0 interface with high-speed global shutter CMOS sensors, packed within a new compact package which delivers excellent performance and efficiency.

Lumenera’s new product line features CMOSIS CMV4000 (Lt425) and CMV2000 (Lt225) MP sensor-based six unique color, monochrome and NIR improved cameras. Product boasts a rugged, modern enclosure. This compact design is meant for integration, and also for industrial and scientific models. The incorporation of FPGA-based image processing provides highest image quality with unparalleled performance.

Dany Longval, Director of Product Management at Lumenera, said that the company’s new CMOSIS cameras outperform CCD sensor performance, ensuring global shutter technology and rapid frame rates. The integration of USB 3.0 technology with this sensor family overcomes the speed limitations present in other data interfaces.

The camera series will be displayed by Lumenera at VISION 2012 from November 6 to 8, 2012 in Stuttgart, Germany.
