Hall Effect Ammeter from VHE continues to be in huge demand as smelters pay more attention to pot performance. A Middle East smelter, Aluminerie Alouette in Canada and Hydro Aardal in Norway have recently placed orders for the instrument.
The VHE Hall Effect Meter, a specialized portable ammeter, is lightweight and can be easily operated. It is designed to provide excellent precision as well as repeatability for monitoring the performance of pot. The conductor current is promptly shown on a backlit screen attached to the probe handle.
The U-shaped sensor head, present in the portable ammeter, is not required to go around the conductor fully, making it quicker and easier to take numerous measurements. A screen icon points out the level of power in the 9 V alkaline dry cell, while an over-temperature warning guards against extreme heat.
Each Hall Effect Ammeter can be configured to suit specific potroom requirements. The length and angle of the lance can be customized to promote easy access. The meter can be measured for the pot current and the probe can be dimensioned to fit into the conductor.
The VHE Hall Effect Meter, originally designed for determining cathode riser bar current, can also be utilized for measuring the anode rod current as an alternate option to VHE's Volt Drop Anode Ammeter.
VHE offers a wide range of design and manufacturing services as well as site services. It currently provides Stimir solutions to the aluminium industry, especially to the Rodding Plant. The company undertakes all types of design and fabrication at its own facilities and ensures on-time delivery and total quality control.
