PNI Sensor Launches SeaTRAX Magneto-Inductive Heading Sensor for Seismic Streamers

PNI Sensor, the well-established, U.S.-based manufacturer of geomagnetic components and heading sensors, today introduced their SeaTRAX magneto-inductive heading sensor. SeaTRAX meets all stringent streamer specifications at a price well under the $1000 barrier.

Unlike heading sensors costing thousands more, SeaTRAX is backed by PNI Sensor Corporation's decades of heading sensor design and manufacturing experience, making it a dramatically more cost-effective solution. And PNI is a proven source for on-time delivery, having provided a steady stream of tilt-compensated heading sensor compasses for dozens of mission critical systems over the years.

SeaTRAX's revolutionary price point is possible because it's built on magneto-inductive technology. SeaTRAX provides heading accuracy of 0.3 degrees rms, similar to the best fluxgate sensors, but demands much less power, and allows for multiple field calibration options. Yet unlike fluxgate sensors that typically cost in the $5000 range, SeaTRAX is available today for $799.

PNI Sensor is demonstrating SeaTRAX at the Ocean's MTS/IEEE show in booth 1532 at Hampton Roads, Virginia, October 15-19.
