The LG Fathom on-the-go office mobile phone with 1 GHz processor, 3.2 inch touch-screen with vibration for tactile feedback and enhanced touch experience, proximity and luminous sensors will be available in the U.S. from May 27, 2010.
This phone, recently announced by LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A. and Verizon Wireless, has redefined productivity. It has a stylish design, smart global capabilities and Windows Phone power for accessing data in 200 nations and making speech calls in over 220 nations, and at 3G speeds in 110 nations.
The phone incorporates a number of important features. These features include 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, in-built WMA music player and MP3, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, video player for 3GP, MP4, and WMV formats, USB mass storage to enable file transfer between PC and microSD card, speaker independent voice commands, one-touch speaker phone, full slide out type of QWERT keyboard having simultaneous touch screen capabilities, voice-activated dialing for a maximum of 4,000 entities, and so on.
Besides these important features, the phone also incorporates lifestyle features. It has a specialized task manager key for speedy access of the mobile Task Manager. AcriveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center help users in keeping their personal data updated and organized. When users are speaking on the phone the touch screen buttons are locked by the proximity sensor. The brightness of the LCD backlight can be adjusted based on light conditions with the luminous sensor. The wireless connectivity for the cellular network, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi can be enabled or disabled through the Wireless manager.
The phone has VZ Navigator global capabilities that enable users to get maps and turn-by-turn directions in more than 20 destinations in the U.K., Spain, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, Germany, Sweden, and Norway. This user-friendly application can also mark the distances in kilometers or miles and can locate ATMs/banks, restaurants, popular spots and gas stations.
The phone incorporates a 3.2 megapixel camcorder and autofocus camera. It has three different video resolutions and five different camera resolutions. For taking close up and detailed pictures the macro mode is used. The image editor facilitates zoom, crop, resize, stamps, and added frames functionalities. The brightness, shutter sounds, self timer, white balance and color effects can be customized. The device has a maximum video recording time of 1 min and can transmit or save video for a maximum of 1 h. The device can be carried in a sleek blue case by users to business meetings or weekend outings.
