STQC Certifies DigitalPersona Fingerprint Readers

DigitalPersona, Inc., a trusted partner for biometric identity verification solutions, today announced that the DigitalPersona®Eikon® Touch 500 with TouchChip® TCS1 Sensor and U.are.U® 4500 Reader UID edition USB based single fingerprint scanners have been certified by the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, an office of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & IT, Govt. of India. This certification was obtained in cooperation with DigitalPersona's partner in India, Smart Identity Devices Pvt. Ltd. (Smart ID).

DigitalPersona is the first and only supplier to pass the rigorous accuracy, durability, safety and usability tests conducted at STQC laboratories for both optical and silicon fingerprint scanners. The addition of DigitalPersona's Eikon Touch 500 with TouchChip TCS1 Sensor and U.are.U 4500 Reader UID edition fingerprint scanners to the list of approved biometric devices for India's Unique Identification (UID) project provides integrators and OEMs unique and proven technology choices.
