Vishay Precision Group, Inc. today announced that Integrated Electronics Technology P. Ltd. (INTRON), an India-based manufacturer and distributor of resistors, is distributing the complete Vishay Foil Resistors brand (VFR) product portfolio throughout the country.
Serving the Indian electronics industry for the past 40 years, INTRON’s mission is to provide precision resistor products for a wide range of applications. By distributing VFR’s entire portfolio, INTRON is offering its customers a variety of resistor configurations and package types to meet their different needs: discrete resistors and resistor networks in surface mount and through-hole (leaded) configurations, customized chip resistor networks, precision trimming potentiometers, and discrete chips for use in hybrid circuits.
VPG’s foil resistors are known worldwide for providing the highest level of precision and stability in many forms and configurations. As such, their applications are found in the most advanced equipment in the electronics industry. In addition to making this technology readily available within the Indian market, INTRON will provide expert applications assistance to design engineers to help them improve the performance of end products with VFR Bulk Metal® Foil resistors.
“Design engineers in India will benefit from the guidance and expert applications assistance that INTRON provides in addition to serving as a reliable source for the full line of VFR foil resistors,” said VFR Senior Director of Application Engineering Yuval Hernik. “Foil resistor customers can also be confident, in working with INTRON, of avoiding the counterfeit devices that have made their appearance on the market and which have caused confusion about the differences between actual and published specifications. The consequences of substituting fake resistors for real Bulk Metal Foil resistors can be very grave indeed. That’s why it’s more important than ever to know that the foil resistors you’re using are in fact the high-precision devices you believe them to be.
“VFR is pleased to have this opportunity to work with INTRON and anticipates a long and close relationship with mutual success for both companies in India,” Hernik added. “Additionally, VFR sees this arrangement as a solid plus for high-end electronics manufacturers in India because they will now have genuine high-precision resistor products more immediately available for prototype development, as well as production, with all the advantages and efficiency of in-country procurement."
VFR's ultra-precision Bulk Metal® Foil resistor products provide extremely low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 0.05 ppm/°C typical (0 °C to + 60 °C); exceptional long-term stability to 0.0025 % at 70 °C and 2000 h at rated power; and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection to at least 25 kV. These characteristics allow designers to reduce circuit errors significantly and greatly improve overall performance in applications requiring a high degree of precision and stability, such as medical testing equipment, semiconductor equipment, precision measuring instruments, aerospace, and military applications.
