O2Micro’s Temperature Sensor-Chip Set Receives The Best Product Award at 2013 China ACE Awards

O2Micro® International Limited, a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, is pleased to announce that it received "The Best Product Award" at the 2013 China ACE Awards in the Power Management category. The award ceremony was held on March 1st at the 18th Annual IIC-China.

O2Micro's OZ8952/OZ8953 chip set was granted the award. The OZ8952/OZ8953 is a stand-alone Li-lon/Polymer battery pack protection IC solution, which is the first chip set in the industry specifically designed for the power tool market. This chip set is a highly integrated voltage, current and temperature protection solution. It utilizes a NTC temperature sensor in a patented temperature protection solution to reduce system power consumption and overall cost, while maintaining user safety.

The OZ8952 supports 3- or 4-cell battery packs and the OZ8953 supports 5-cell battery packs. Applications include power tools, Notebook PCs, and uninterruptable power supplies, among others.

The finalists of "The Best Product Award" were chosen by a panel of judges. The winners were selected by vote from the online engineering community of mainland China. The voting took place from December 2012 to January 2013.
