Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is introducing an upgraded early warning monitoring system featuring "consumable" unattended seismic sensors that can be deployed several miles away from a military base, nuclear power plant, border, or other secured area.
E-UGS Unattended Ground Sensors are seismic sensors that can be deployed in seconds and provide live seismic sensing for up to six months to protect the perimeter of any area without endangering personnel. Capable of the early detection of people walking and vehicles, the sensors are disposable and the controller/receiver operates with a PC or laptop and shows maps with sensor locations and status alerts for activated sensors.
About the size of a coffee cup, each E-UGS Unattended Ground Sensor employs an algorithm that only detects human footsteps and moving vehicles. Because E-UGS early warning monitoring systems don't require sight or wiring, they can convert a dumb fence into a smart fence and can provide soft- and hard-spot fill-in coverage. Since 2010, ARA has delivered more than 40,000 first generation E-UGS sensors to the U.S. Military.
E-UGS Unattended Ground Sensors consist of a control/receiver priced from $6,495.00 and kits containing 55 sensors and a placement tool from $17,850.
