OKI Electric Industry has recently announced that an OKI Group company, OKI Network Integration has commenced shipment of the second version of the ‘Web Sensing’ service related to environmental information collection. The shipment is for the Japanese market. OKI Network Integration focuses on triple plays (data, voice and video convergence).
Concerns related to environmental issues like global warming have resulted in additional implementation of environment related legislation including legislation by local authorities and the Revised Energy Conservation Law like the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for action against global warming. Businesses are also being forced to implement particular environmental initiatives that incorporate the measurement, visualization and analysis of CO2 reductions and environmental information.
There has been an increase in the extent of coverage provided by the April 2010 introduced Revised Energy Conservation Law. The coverage has been enlarged and now includes individual businesses from the individual offices and factories. This demands that the businesses implement total energy management usage, more so in gas and power consumption for all their sites.
This service helps users in the measurement of energy utilization rates, gathered for every region according to users-set parameters like production output and floor area, to offer users with an in-depth understanding of every region’s energy efficiency. This helps users in focusing on activities related to energy savings in regions having low energy efficiency. Users will be able to examine data gathered from every region with the help of a portfolio of analytic tools in more detail and depth to enable them to plan and implement additional specific measures for energy saving.
This new version of the service provides considerably enhanced features and its launch has coincided with the Revised Energy Conservation Law’s implementation during April 2010. Besides, in total compliance with the Revised Energy Conservation Law, it is also able to support customers’ environmental operations life cycle management. It permits customers to monitor, share, assess, and visualize specific information related to the environment at their stores or offices.
OKINET Business Development Division’s General Manager Hideyuki Tsuji, informed that the Web Sensing’s earlier version could measure environmental information like gas and power used at stores and offices, but needed installation of specialized equipment.
