Sally Ride Science Releases its First SPARKlab Activity in PASCO’s Sensor-Based Learning Platform

Sally Ride Science, a science content and innovative technology solutions provider, has recently announced their first among a series of materials published for SPARKscience.

SPARKscience is PASCO’s research-oriented learning platform that combines sensor-enabled data collection, instructional content and assessment, and virtualization and data analysis.

Our Changing Climate is the first SPARKlab activity set that was created using content of the Sally Ride Science Climate Change series. This activity integrates the newest environmental and science concerns with existing solutions and ideas for countering Earth’s climate change and building a healthier planet. Sally Ride Science has planned to introduce more SPARKlab sets related to physical science, earth science, and life science.

SPARKlabs can be used with SPARKvue software that promotes scientific research in real time, discussions with incorporated annotation tools, and student reflection. Our Changing Climate includes background information, setup and materials instructions, and the collection of data in a single place, encourages students to answer questions, predict and analyze their outcomes. It is possible to use it with a range of technologies that include Mac and Windows-based PCs, handheld gadgets like the iPod and the iTouch of Apple, netbooks, interactive whiteboards, as well as the mobile SPARK Science Learning System.
