The video industry ODM/OEM specialist, ACULA Technology, has joined the world security industry consortium HDcctv Alliance to market an HDcctv-compliant receiver/repeater. HDcctv promotes and manages the HDcctv equipment interoperability technical standards.
ACULA has recognized the value of offering HD over current cable infrastructure based video for the surveillance market and the need to participate in a standard body that focuses on interoperability for maximizing its prospects in this new product line. HDcctv Alliance member companies can access every HDcctv specification and are also licensed to utilize the logo on compliant equipment to guarantee interoperability.
To leverage the High-Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) broadcast television standard as the HDcctv Specification’s basis, HDcctv Alliance has tied up with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).. HDcctv incorporates a range of HD-SDI enhancements that are important for ‘Long Reach Mode’ that enables 300 m transmission over traditional RG-59 cable, and surveillance.
The Alliance is increasing its international membership rapidly and includes a diverse range of security industry participants, from support and system installers to component to security sales to OEM and branded equipment manufacturers. Alliance members will be able to benefit through certification of compliant products, access to the specification and take part in the standard development process. Marketing advantages include branding with HDcctv logo product to interoperability and promotions for increasing the international visibility of the members. Membership registration is currently through www.highdefcctv.org.
HDcctv type of surveillance cameras can provide digital high definition video on the coaxial cable. The HDcctv Alliance standards will enable high definition (HD) security systems of the interoperable plug-and-play type to offer the signal integrity of the highest order, without any recognizable compression latency. They also ensure that there are no delays in transmission or image artifacts due to transmission-related compression.
ACULA intends to develop an in-built receiver that can be used in HDcctv monitors catering for video monitoring and surveillance systems, as well as market repeater/receiver that is HDcctv-compliant.
ACULA is on the verge of marketing an HDcctv-compliant receiver/repeater. This device caters for video monitoring and surveillance systems that need superior performance and quality. This device can receive digital video signal through traditional coaxial cables at a maximum resolution of 1080p. This signal is transformed to a VGA or HMDI signal. The transformed signal is used in displaying the high quality image with a traditional HD monitor. In the near future, ACULA will design an HDcctv-compliant in-built receiver for large size monitors, besides launching HDcctv-compliant monitors.
