The thermal sensor-based modules from Crucial Ballistix offer temperature-monitoring utility and are compatible with both IntelCore i7 and Intel Core i5 processors on the newest chipsets of Intel. Incorporated within, is a novel heat spreader design that results in the reduction of a maximum of 30% memory module temperature in comparison to existing Ballistix heat spreader design.
The XMP profile of Intel has been programmed to facilitate configuration on supported platforms easily. The module will be sold as 4GB kits at the widely used DDR3-1600 speeds. Initially it will be available at Newegg.com and later in July at www.crucial.com and selected partners.
These modules are incorporated inside an effective and radically redesigned heat spreader. The monitoring utility and the thermal sensor permit PC users to observe the memory module temperature on a real time basis. Such modules provide a major advantage for enthusiastic users and overclockers who have to battle excessive system heat constantly.
Jeremy Mortenson, Senior Product Manager at Crucial Ballistix, informed that any PC user will say that the system heat is an ongoing problem.
The DDR3-1600 of Crucial Ballistix includes thermal sensor enabled un-buffered DIMMs. It has been designed for high-end computer builders, modders and overclockers. Customers who are purchasing these Crucial Ballistix modules will be able to freely download the temperature-monitoring utility from Crucial.com. The modules are reliable and stable. 32 inch fins are placed on the module for increasing the surface temperature. These Crucial Ballistix memory modules have a restricted lifetime warranty.
