MDT Introduces TMR Magnetic Pattern Recognition Sensors for Validating Bank Notes

MultiDimension Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT), a leading supplier of magnetic sensors specializing in Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, has announced the MMGB01/ MMGB06/MMGB18 TMR magnetic pattern recognition sensors.

They are the world's first TMR magnetic sensors for detecting magnetic properties on banknotes in financial anti-counterfeit appliances, including banknote validation, banknote counters and sorters, and magnetic card readers.

The new MMGB01/MMGB06/MMGB18 TMR magnetic pattern recognition sensors are designed and manufactured with MDT's unique TMR technology and intellectual property. They achieve high sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio for weak magnetic signal detection on banknotes by using customized TMR magnetic sensors and a bias magnet. The robust mechanical design realizes a miniaturized, durable and light-weight sensor module that is compatible with existing products on the market. The MMGB01 series includes a few products with single-channel detection capability; while MMGB06 and MMGB18 are 6-channel and 18-channel sensors that can read multiple signals in parallel.

"MDT's new TMR magnetic sensors are the first products using TMR technology on the financial anti-counterfeit appliances market, and they bring many unique benefits of TMR technology to our customers with high-sensitivity and high-resolution magnetic signal detection," said Dr. Song Xue, Chairman and CEO of MultiDimension Technology. "We are committed to offer the best of our TMR technology with higher quality, enhanced manufacturability and better cost-effectiveness to compete with existing products. In addition, MDT's TMR technology is fully capable of high-resolution magnetic image retrieval to meet the stringent requirements of the next-generation financial anti-counterfeit appliances. We are confident that our MDT can bring this enabling technology to the market, which has long been seeking a solution that cannot be accomplished by current technologies."

MDT's TMR technology realizes the key benefits of existing magnetic sensor technologies including Hall Effect, Indium-Antimonide, AMR (Anisotropic Magnetoresistance) and GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance), while adding the high sensitivity, large signal output, and low power inherent in TMR technology. MDT offers all advantages of TMR to the commercial sensor market in a growing product portfolio, including TMR magnetic field sensors, TMR magnetic angle sensors, TMR magnetic switches, TMR magnetic gear tooth sensors, and the new TMR magnetic pattern recognition sensors.
