Casio America Introduces PRO TREK PRW5050BN-5 Timepiece with Triple Sensor Technology

Casio America, Inc. is excited to introduce the latest addition to its PRO TREK collection of outdoor timepieces for men – the PRW5050BN-5. It is the first PRO TREK timepiece designed with a silicone band offering a supple fit with abrasion resistance along with the precision and reliability of PRO TREK's One-Triple Sensor technology – making it the ideal instrument for outdoor enthusiasts.

"Our PRO TREK line has become a trusted brand for those looking for comfortable, lightweight watches suitable for outdoor activities," said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio America, Inc. "We are pleased to introduce the PRW5050BN-5 to the line, delivering features in a analog/digital design that exceed the needs of adventure seekers."

Equipped with Casio's Self-Adjusting Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology, the PRW5050BN-5 alleviates concerns about changing the time, even for daylight saving time and leap years. This timepiece automatically synchronizes with atomic clocks in the US, Germany, the UK, China and two in Japan based on the user's home city setting. With Casio's Triple Sensor technology, the PRW5050BN-5 features an altimeter/barometer, thermometer and digital compass. For compass directional readings, the second hand acts as a needle indication North, while the bearing is displayed in the digital window. The second hand can also be used to display altitude or barometric differentials from prior readings. All three of these features accurately monitor nature's elements and are designed for high energy activities.

The PRW5050BN-5 features Tough Movement Technology which automatically checks and adjusts the hand home positioning at the 55th minute of every hour. The PRW5050BN-5 also operates with Casio's Tough Solar Power technology. Its battery life is approximately six months without further exposure to light and the watch has a Power Save feature that allows the timepiece to power down to conserve power when not exposed to light for a certain period of time. This energy-conscious timepiece can be charged even in low or fluorescent light, eliminating the need for battery changes.

Casio's PRO TREK PRW5050BN-5 also offers water resistance up to 100 meters, low temperature resistance (-10°C/14°F), world time (29 cities + UTC), a full auto LED light with afterglow, neo-brite luminous hands and markers, five Daily Alarms and more.

The PRW5050BN-5 is currently available at select retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $470. For additional information on Casio's PRO TREK series of timepieces, please visit www.PROTREK.Casio.com.
